Motwani Jadeja India Fellowship Symposium
The inaugural cohort of eight 21st Century India Center Motwani Jadeja India Fellows visited UC San Diego for a daylong symposium to share what they learned during their time in India, including insights into Indian industries and markets and how they built their professional networks through direct engagement with counterparts in their sectors. They also mentored School of Global Policy and Strategy students on careers in global policy and navigating the job market, connected with community members and 21CIC staff to expand their own professional networks, and discussed how the fellowship has shaped their careers and what comes next.
Reflections on an Academic's Global Journey: Book Talk with Pranab Bardhan
This inspiring event featured renowned Indian economist Pranab Bardhan as he delved into his remarkable personal and professional growth journey. Drawing from the ancient Sanskrit hymn "charaiveti," which means "keep moving" in search of self-realization, Bardhan's narrative takes us from his early days in a poor neighborhood in Kolkata, where he was home-schooled by his father, to his vigorous student life at Presidency College in Kolkata and Cambridge, England.
